League History

Over the next few months we will be looking to add as much detail as we can with regards to the history of the league and darts in our area, right back to when this league started as the Oakhill League after the War and developed into the Radstock League. The Radstock League then split into two leagues - the Paulton and Radstock Leagues. The two leagues then amalgamated once again, this time under the Paulton League name.

We are looking for any interesting information, pictures and details of old venues, teams, results, old player tables, cuttings etc etc. If you have anything of interest please don't hesistate to contact us and let us know.

'Roll of Honour' page now added (see left index under league history).

More info will get added to the section but for now there is League Winners and Singles winners. As you can see there are a few gaps so please let me know if you can fill some of those gaps!

Radstock vs WOE page now added about a challenge match between some local Radstock/Paulton players vs the 'West of England Superstars' team. Click here to go straight to it

Here is a cutting from about 20 years ago regarding a charity 3,000,001 marathon (thanks again to Barrie Brown for the cutting) that took place to raise money for local charities. The picture is a little fuzzy but features all local players (and current Paulton League players Chris Allen and Lee Taylor, if you can recognise them!)

from left to right. Top: Steve Smith, Frank Baressi, Chris Allen, Martin Smith, Roger Smith. Bottom: Victor Gayle, Barry Brown, Fab Baressi, Lee Taylor
